I Heart My Sister!

Something Sweet In The Mail

What a wonderful surprise I found in my mailbox a few days ago!  Something sweet from Alaska that made my heart sing!

My beautiful sister and I love puzzles and sis has an uncanny way of sending me something special just when I need it the most.  It never fails, if I'm a little blue and feeling a bit low, voila, a little something to brighten my day and cheer me up!

So a few days ago, here is a big old package in my mailbox, and with a little shake, well it was pretty clear it was a puzzle.  But like I said, I had been having a bit of a down in the dumps couple of weeks and without even knowing, she had sent me just the perfect little something special at just the exact right time.  But honestly, it's that special Gemini bond we have together.  I'm completely convinced that our Gemini radar can send out signals to each other.

Well, needless to say, when all those wonderful hearts popped out of the wrapping...well, my heart was lifted, my eyes were misty and it made me so utterly thankful that I have this gentle, generous, loving spirit that I happily call sister in my life.

Thanks Moty for always being there!  I heart you!

Cold And Rainy!

Brrrrrr!

Yippee, it's feeling like winter today. We have been having a real roller coaster ride this winter. Tempertures up, tempertures down. What a ride. 45 degrees one day, 75 degrees the next. Last year we had a real winter, it was a cold blast from up north that lasted a good long while, with a hard freeze that lasted 4 straight days. Now I'm not saying that I could handle real winter any longer having lived down south here for 15 years but it's nice to have a small reminder of what it was like in the good old days when I lived up north.

I hope everyone out there is having a peaceful and good Sunday. My heart and prayers go out to everyone in Arizona this morning after that horrific shooting yesterday. What a sad and monstrous thing to happen. No one deserves this sort of unspeakable act to happen to them.

Oh, good news, I guess I did take a couple of pictures of the wallhanging I made for Pego, our groomer. It was in the early stages of being piece together. Here's a look....

Cute little bandanna fabrics, and like I said earlier, when she got tears in her eyes and just couldn't stop touching it and saying how cute it was, well, that was truly the best Christmas gift I got this year.

Well, I guess it's time to get my day started. I'm hoping I can finish up those two necklaces I started. If you'd like to see them, please stop by my Etsy shop, The Beaded Garden and take a look see!  :-)

Have a wonderful day!

Another Year Come And Gone

Whew!

Where does one begin? All I can say is it just goes by too darn fast and the older I get...UHG, the faster it goes.

So here we are in 2011 already and I barely remember what has happened between my last posting and now. Isn't that just the saddest thing? :-)

Oh well, I guess it's time to start anew and see what this new year has in store for this old gal.

Well, the kids are doing great. That would be my Mikey and Molly and if you look through some of the older posts you will see their sweet little face in the pictures I've posted. They just got groomed by our lady that comes to the house to pamper them and I had made her a quilted wall hanging with fabric from all their little bandannas that she puts on them after their baths but darn the luck I didn't even think to take a picture of it to show everyone how it turned out. Anyway, she loved it and she actually teared up and that just made me even more thankful that we have our Pego who loves my little dogs and is so gentle and good with them.

Oh, I did do something new and was quite fun, I made a lens at Squido if you would like to take a peek and check it out. It is about one of my favorite collectibles, Wee Forest Folk. I've added some cute little fun facts about mice, and even a couple of polls if you would like to add your vote! If you love to blog about your favorite things, your passions in life, or anything under the sun, you probably will love making a few lenses of your own!

I've also added some new jewelry to my ETSY shop. I've had a great creative streak going for a while now. It's a wonder how I can go for months without the least little spark of imagination or creativity and then bingo, I have a million ideas come flooding my brain up with so many ideas that I have at least two or three or five things going at once! Of course that's a total Gemini thing. In fact right now I have a quilt underway, 2 necklaces and a cross stitch I'm working on! Yikes!  :-)

I'm LOVIN' my Nook. Right now I'm reading a library book on it, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I just got a free Nookbook from Barnes & Noble too! I always loved the feel of a book in my hands, the paper on my fingers as I turned the pages, but you know what, the Nook is so easy to hold it does make reading a bit more enjoyable for me. And they have a new Nookcolor out...pretty fancy!

Well dear readers I need to step away from the computer for a bit. And hopefully this time I won't be gone for 6 months! :-) See ya soon and happy new year!
