Had To Do It!

Just Couldn't Leave Well Enough Alone

Well here I am again. I just couldn't rest with those awful pictures of my Garden Girl, so I retook just a few more to try to get a little more up close and personal and hopefully some of the detail will show up a little better. Let's see if it was a success or not, shall we? :-) Fingers crossed!

Time Flies

Blink

Wow, could time fly any faster? If things keep going at this pace I'll be a nice ripe one hundred years old by next week! So how's about a little catching up on things around here.

Been a bit busy beading a new doll. I thought she would get done fairly quickly but as usual it's a little more slow going then I had planned. But she is worth every bead, every stitch, every carefully thought out color I place on her. Here is just a couple of snapshots of her so far. I'll show and tell more when I have her finished in all her glory! And hopefully the new pictures will show just how really beautiful she is instead of these dreadful few that just don't capture the beautiful color of the beads and how detailed she is becoming. She has a Batik cloth body. She is full of flower and leaf beads, different sizes of seed beads, and her lovely little butterflies are Swarovski crystals.

She is so much prettier than these lousy pictures. I am so untalented when it comes to taking a good photo. But she still has more personality to be brought out and a few more flowers and vines to show off her garden beauty!
Till next time. See you then.

Cross Stitch

Show and Tell

I started cross stitching about a million years ago. And then like so many other things, sadly, it fell by the wayside for a very long time. Then, one day I happened to be surfing and I found some wonderful patterns that I had never seen before. I suppose it was because I hadn't been looking for so very many years! None the less, I felt a tug and that little stitiching bug bit me big time. So as hard as it was to just pick a few new charts and kits, I did.

I had forgotten all the good things about stitiching, like being absorbed in the linen and watching the pattern come to life. The sense of accomplishment when you see your hard work coming alive before your very eyes. And as with all things good, there are bad too. Oh, I have my moments when my thread gets knotted or I have to rip out what I spent hours doing because I miscounted by one little itty bitty thread in the linen, but that just goes with the territory.
So here is one of my latest projects. This is one that I finished just a short time ago. Now all it needs is a new frame and to be hung on my wall.

Millennium

Man did I love that show. Still do. It's a dirty rotten shame it ended way too soon. And then, we really never got a decent final episode to finish up it's short life span. They gave us the ending episode on X-Files and if by chance you hadn't known that was what they were going to do, you would have missed the very last time of seeing Frank Black and his lovely little daughter. I'm a sucker for tortured leading characters. And Frank, well I think he may have been one of the all time best tortured characters to ever come along. The show stole my heart as well as the cast that so brilliantly brought this wonderful program to life. It broke my heart to see this one end. Not to mention another excellent program that is coming up on it's last season. I will miss the show terribly with all of it's incredible characters and wicked intelligent writing. Watching this show has always reminded me of reading a great book. But more on this later!

But I guess the only reason I mentioned all of this was, just in case you noticed my little intro to who I am, I used the wonderful quote from Millennium, this is who we are. And being a Gemini, most of the time I do feel like two different sides of the same coin. So I guess sometimes I feel more like a "we" trying to make a decision on what I like more. So because of that, I've never had a favorite color because I can't pick just one. I've never had a favorite movie because, yep, I can't pick just one. So I'm thankful for this great outlet of blogging to be able to perhaps write about some of the ways that I have kept fairly sane while battling this dreaded infliction of having Gemini schizophrenia and never being able to just have one or two favorite things to do in this big old world. And in the mean time I hope to be able to show you a few of my different interests along the way!

So until next time, have a great weekend!

Life Is Good, Life Is Grand!

Hello and Welcome.

I'm so happy to be and thrilled to death to embark upon this wonderful journey of blogging! I guess I will start by introducing, what else, but my puppies of course! :-)

I'll admit, I'm one of those people that call them my babies and act all goofy over them. This is Molly and Micah. We call him Mikey. Molly is the sweetest girl in the world and my most precious angel. Mikey is sweet, insanely smart and all boy.

They are mommy and daddy's pride and joy!

Well I guess I will make this first post short and sweet. I really need to get myself into cleaning mode and tackle some chores around here. This has been a blast and I can't wait to chat some more with everyone! I'm a Gemini, so, oh boy am I good at that! Adios for now.
