Let's Do The Time Warp Again!

Lost In Time

Time to do a bit of catching up!  First of all, I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and that it was filled with lots of holiday cheer and wonderful memories!

My season 5 of Lost came so I have been having the best time rewatching each episode and I must admit, it has been such along time since I had last seen it that it has been a true delight to once again see so much that I had forgotten about!

So, perhaps I will continue on with some of the more fun and interesting things that has made me hooked on Lost!  I promise to try to keep it fairly short and sweet although if I had the fortitude and time I know I could write volumes on this amazing series.

Kudos To An Astounding Fusion Of Talent

I think I would like to start by saying something about the abundant talent of the actors that bring our story to life each week.  If they did not possess such keen talent and chemistry, no matter how invovled and rich the story is, no matter how twisting and mind-blowing the fertile imagination of the writers who have taken us on this journey is each week, without this extrodinary cast, I'm pretty sure I would have abandoned this epic and groundbreaking series not long after it started.

I may be wrong on this, I may have continued on but it is without a doubt that each and everyone of the memebers that have brought this tale to life has made me laugh out loud, or has caused me deep sadness and brought me to tears.  There are a few that have left me scratching my head, is he a good guy or a bad guy.  The talent of this cast has given us characters we love to hate, characters we just love and even a few that we weren't really so sad to see killed off!  Sorry Nikki and Paulo but you had to go!  The episode of their dimise was priceless!  I thought it was presented with a wonderfully wicked tongue in cheek twist of their death that was befitting the people they were in life.  Especially Nikki.  Man, did she have it coming!  :-)

I would love to list all of the individual actors and who they play.  I'm not going to do that, not now anyway.  I know this will sound horribly silly and naive but the characters on this show are so real to me right now that if I seperate their real life name and their character's name it destroys the illusion a bit for me.  So for now I will keep them in their roles of the Oceanic 815 survivors.  The Losties.  And as much as I would like to name a few that are my favorites, I just can't do it, there are so many unique characters in this show that it is impossible for this old Gemini to have a few favs!  Each and every one of them are special, even the newest members of our group.  And, I have a feeling that when the writers created some of these roles, they were never meant to be more than just a bit part for one or two episodes.  But because this show is so lush, we viewers wanted to know as much as we possibly could about each one of these characters.  Sorry Nikki, again, not you!  :-)

I guess it was the way they had set up the premiss.  The intricate criss-crossing of characters, the spiderweb of numbers and patterns.  Even the specific names of our Losties that have related to scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, and then, of course we were given cleverly hidden anagrams and other easter egg clues that were the icing on the cake to all of this mysterious journey the writers have led us through.  So, when someone new has been presented to us, although they may have been intended to be no one of importance, we will look at this new person with anticipation of them being yet another piece of the puzzle in the riddle of the island with a delicious new back story for us to learn about.

So needless to say, I know the writers and producers will try to give us an explosive last season....but for me, I really do not want this to end.  I honestly have an empty feeling starting because I know I will never see these charaters and the incredible actors that play them, again.

Thank you gentle reader for continuing on with me.  I know I was going to head in another direction but if I don't capture what is in my head at that very moment, it will be gone forever.  So tonight is my thank you to all the people involved in making this one heck of a odyssey for the last 5 seasons of Lost!

Let's Get Lost Together!

Accolades And Admiration
Decisions, Decisions.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to continue where I left off, which would be the best, but it's so tempting to switch gears and take you down another road of accolades and admiration for an incredible list of extrodinary spiderweb of crisscrossing paths that would lead our Losties ending up together on the mysterious island that may or may not allow our group of survivors to leave unscathed!  Is it Destiny or Happenstance?

Let's stick with a few more introductions.  Here we go.  We left off with Claire.  A beautiful Aussie lass that gave birth on our island of intrigue.

Here's to you Shannon and Boone, stepbrother and stepsister. Shannon, seemingly selfish and spoiled, a little misunderstood and then transformed by the love of another Lostie.  Boone, wrapped around his stepsister's finger.  Becomes John Locke's pupil.

Here's to Bernard and Rose, husband and wife.  Rose crashing to earth with the Losties, Barnard crashing to earth with the Tailies.

We now will embark on our Tailies
The surviors of the tail section of flight 815.

Here's to you Ana Lucia, police woman who becomes the leader of the Tailies.

Here's to you Mr. Eko, brother of Yemi.  Warlord, Catholic priest, church builder.

Here's to you Libby, psychologist and Hurley's friend.

Here's to you Cindy, Oceanic flight attendant, missing person, Other.

These are some of the flight 815 surviors.  There are more and if you are interested in finding out more about the passingers of Oceanic Flight 815 please click here go to Lostpedia.  Everything Lost is right there at your fingertips!  Great stuff!  Wonderful details of all 5 seasons of Lost!

If perhaps your curiosity is peeked and you are thinking of watching the show from the beginning I think I would watch first and maybe check out Lostpedia later.  There is a lot of information and I would hate to ruin some of the more surprising and memorable moments of the show.

Sorry, I need to stop for now.  I need to attend to other things, ugh, but I wanted to be sure to keep you posted for now and I'll be back as quickly as I can!

Lost?

I'm Lost For The Last Time

It's hard to say goodbye to an old friend.  This friend has given me five seasons of incredible eye opening scenarios, intriguing thoughts of time travel, adventurous journeys through jungles, a mysterious moving cabin on a mysterious invisable island with a just as mysterious man named Jacob.

Head exploding physics, math, electromagnetism and oodles of quantum this, casimire that and of course the Valenzetti Equation.  Philosophers, mathamaticians, scientists, mad men, heroes, strong fierce women.  The OthersThe Hostiles. The good guys, the bad guys and most important, a man of science and a man of faith.

This genius show treated it's audiance like viewers with brains.  It was courageous enough to show us that a TV series storyline didn't have to be wrapped up in 60 minuntes.  It was a brave new way of giving us a look at a living, breathing, moving book.  And I couldn't wait until the next chapter that would ultimately give us more questions then answers!  Each week was breath takingly surprising, delightful, exciting, romantic, silly, sometimes teary eyed sad and always always rewarding.  A story of flawed people finding a different path.  A path that just might lead to redemption.

And now, sadly, this is the last season of this phenomenal odyssey created by J.J. Abrams.  My hat is off to Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof for giving me my monies worth.  Well actually, I would have loved these last 3 seasons to have had full 22/24 episodes instead of only 16 episodes per season but I'm a greedy lostie junkie, so sue me!  :-)

Goodbye Flight 815 Survivors
Goodbye Jack Shephard
Surgeon / Tortured Leader / A Man Of Science

Goodbye John Locke
Kidney Donor / Co-Leader / A Man Of Faith

Con Man / Smart Ass / Fearless Hero

Goodbye Kate Austen
Fugitive / Tough -Tender / Torn Between Two Lovers

Cursed / Blessed / Heart Of Gold

Goodbye to all of you that made this fantastic voyage on an enchanted island such a joy to watch each week.  Dear Reader, if you have not watched this show, I gently urge you to at least check it out for yourself.  I'm an easy one to get lost in the fantasy of a book or be pulled willingly into the drama of a good movie and I admit, a good yarn like Lost will swallow me whole.  So if you are the type who enjoys something that doesn't always end with and easy fix or all the answers, this could be right up your alley.

Here's to Sayid, a once torturer with a tender heart who became a warrior to save his friends.

Here's to Charlie, a reluctant junkie that crashed to earth on flight 815 and ended up sacrificing himself for the safety of the woman he loved.

Here's to Jin and Sun, a story of love, betrail, forgiveness and loss.

Here's to Walt, son of Michael, he is "special" and the owner of Vincent.

Here's to Michael, Walt's father, a man who would do anything to get his son back.

Here's to Claire, who gives birth to her son Aaron on the island.

Well Gentle Reader, I'll have to leave it here for tonight.  As much as I would love to continue on for all eternity about all things Lost, I'm going to have to call it a night.  Thank you for taking this voyage with me through the imagination of some very talented people who brought us a show like none other, and I hope you will continue on with me as I give a salute to more of the magic that made Lost so unique.  Good Night!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Hurray For The Weatherman

Just as he said it would, it snowed!  This ol' Wisconsin gal is one happy camper!  It has snowed a couple of other times since I've been down south here but this one looks like it's going to add up a little bit more than the other times and stay a bit longer too as the tempurature drops today.  And let me just say, I don't mind a cotton pickin' bit!  I think my Favorite Little Nag up there on the moon (Alaska) sent this down to me just to make me happy.  She does things like that, it's those witchy witchy ways she has!  :-)

So, on with the show.
Snow!

Molly trying to duck between the snowflakes.

Palm trees in the snow.

A little snow packing along the fence.  Very cool.

Snowflakes, Ligustrums and a very white lawn.

Asparagus Fern

Assorted plants...Aloe, Cactus and snow covered Daylilies

And last but not least, my hubby's favorite cactus.

Well, that's about it for now.  Today is going to be one of my most favorite days of the year!  Now I'm off to do some beading to make something pretty to put into my shop on Etsy.  Shameful self promotion...Ya'll come and have a visit at my little shop, The Beaded Garden.  I have a beautiful Christmas Angel Necklace that you just might like!  :-)  Have a Scooby Dooby Doo of a weekend!

Dog Grooming Day!

That Can Only Mean One Thing

It means it's been 5 weeks since my last post.  Ouch!  So here I am to add a few words and maybe a picture or two!

It's getting darn cold down south here and to my absolute delight we have a very good chance of snow falling tomorrow.  So if we are so lucky to get that very rare substance I'll definitely have the camera out and snap a few shots to post.  It would be just a bit more delightful if it came closer to Christmas but for me, hey it's snow, so bring it on!!!  Hurray!

Just Another Halloween Tidbit

I know we are well past Halloween but  I had made a necklace for by sister about three years ago.  It is orange and black with goo-gobs of beads and some very cool sterling silver charms.  Well, sis had one of her incredibly wonderful parties for Halloween and she wore it.  Unfortunatly a couple of the charms fell off so she sent it back down here to have me fix them so I figured while I had it here I would show and tell.

I had a blast making it and it turned out just like I planned.  So here is a look at My Favorite Nag's Halloween necklace.  Hold on to your cowboy hats, I went a little camera crazy!

That's all folks!  Hopefully I'll have a little snow to show you tomorrow!

Have a wonderful weekend and may all your trick or treat bags be overflowing with goodies!

Garden Girl

SHE'S DONE!

Hurray!  I'm am so thrilled, she is lovely and it's hard to give her up but I have placed her on Etsy so someone who loves her as much as I do will find a nice spot for her in their home!  I'll post a few pictures of the finshed pictures of her later on, but you can always go to Etsy and see her at my store, Lillypie @ Etsy.

I hope your weekend was the best!  I'm off to find a new and exciting project to start!  Opps, I guess I need to focus on that glorious cross stitch I need to work on so badly.  Maybe I'll just crack a book and relax for a while.  Oh dear, oh dear, what is this schizophrenic gemini girl to do?!  :-)

Nag! Nag! Nag!

She's At It Again!

Well little sis is at it again. So I had better get my rear in gear and make up for too long of a quiet spell. So here is an update on Garden Girl, she has a few new lampwork flowers on her and she now has her sweet little face!

I thought seeing I was showing yet another picture of this doll along with so many others of her, and probably a few more when she is in her full glory, I might just as well show you one that I had made for my dearest little nag and the best sister and friend a girl could ask for. She helps me to be a better person and I'm thankful for that every single day!
Halloween is her favorite holiday. Christmas is right up there, but Halloween has a special place in her heart. So for her birthday, which is exactly 3 years and a day after mine, I made her a Sister of the Night Flight. I can well imagine the two of them riding their brooms and cackling in sheer delight as they cast ink black silhouettes against a glorious full moon!

Unfortunately I didn't use the macro on my camera for these pictures so they are not very detailed. I sure did have fun making her and bringing her to life. So here's to you Cynderella.
Happy Halloween!

A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall

Raining Cats and Frogs!

Happy days! The rains have finally decided to come our way and what a blessing it has been. We got 3 days of good hard soaking rain. It's such a wonderment that when the trees, shrubs and flowers are so parched from the lack of water and then the rains start, just like that, I swear, I can hear them sigh in complete contentment with joyful relief. Even the birds and the little tree frogs that live around my house sing louder and a bit more cheerfully! Pure wonderment!

So today after the rain I noticed little drops of liquid heaven on a few of my plants so I snapped a few pictures. The first are of my cactus with all her babies around her and drops of juicy refreshment gently resting in and on her prickly blond hairs! :-)

The next photos are of my Asparagus Fern with little dew drops clinging to her needles and her little white flowers.

And finally I have a picture of my Elephant's Foot plant with a few little sparkling sprinkles of her own too!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the pictures and until next time, have a Ya Ba Daba Do of a week!

Dog Days Of Summer

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot!

Oh my, August is here and we are having one Hot Tamale of a summer. Record highs and dry as a bone down here. Thank goodness for air conditioning and good books to read!

I have finally gotten around to taking a few snaps of the cross stitch I had been working on (because of a big nudge from my beautiful sister from way up north in Alaska) to show you. It's a sweet little pattern by Little House Needleworks called Prairie Sampler. I have to be honest and say, Hi, I'm Karan and I am a total procrastinator!

So when I put my needle down on this project I haven't picked up that needle since. But as one who suffers from Gemini Addiction Affliction, where one is addicted to starting a new project before the others are finished, as you have seen, I had started my Garden Girl doll that is so dear to my heart. In fact, she is coming along very nicely and I'll be getting a few more pictures of her so you can see how she is blossoming now.

But first, here is my Prairie Sampler. And now I have itchy fingers to pick up this needle with floss in it and do another row of cross stitching! :-)

Prairie Sampler
Little House Needleworks

Well, I guess that's about it for now. In fact I think I'm getting a terrible urge to start something new! Hmmmmmm, perhaps a bit of scrapbooking might be just the ticket! ;-)
Adios for now. Be safe, be happy and enjoy the rest of these Dog Days of summer.

Had To Do It!

Just Couldn't Leave Well Enough Alone

Well here I am again. I just couldn't rest with those awful pictures of my Garden Girl, so I retook just a few more to try to get a little more up close and personal and hopefully some of the detail will show up a little better. Let's see if it was a success or not, shall we? :-) Fingers crossed!

Time Flies

Blink

Wow, could time fly any faster? If things keep going at this pace I'll be a nice ripe one hundred years old by next week! So how's about a little catching up on things around here.

Been a bit busy beading a new doll. I thought she would get done fairly quickly but as usual it's a little more slow going then I had planned. But she is worth every bead, every stitch, every carefully thought out color I place on her. Here is just a couple of snapshots of her so far. I'll show and tell more when I have her finished in all her glory! And hopefully the new pictures will show just how really beautiful she is instead of these dreadful few that just don't capture the beautiful color of the beads and how detailed she is becoming. She has a Batik cloth body. She is full of flower and leaf beads, different sizes of seed beads, and her lovely little butterflies are Swarovski crystals.

She is so much prettier than these lousy pictures. I am so untalented when it comes to taking a good photo. But she still has more personality to be brought out and a few more flowers and vines to show off her garden beauty!
Till next time. See you then.
